This policy explains how DSK Design and Build ("we", "us") collects and uses your personal information when you visit dskdesignandbuild.co.uk, send us an enquiry or apply for a job. We are the data controller for this information under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Information we collect

• Quote and contact forms: your name, phone number, email address, the service you need and anything you write in your message.
• Job applications: your name, email address, phone number, any LinkedIn or portfolio link, your covering message and the CV you upload, together with the role you applied for.
• Emails and calls: what you tell us when you contact us directly.
• Technical information: our web server records basic technical details such as your IP address and browser type to keep the website secure and working.

How we use your information

• To reply to your enquiry, visit your property, prepare a quote and carry out work you ask us to do (to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, and to perform that contract).
• To consider your job application and contact you about it (our legitimate interest in recruiting, and steps before a possible employment contract).
• To keep the website secure, prevent spam and fix problems (our legitimate interests).
• To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations (legal obligation).

We do not sell your information and we do not use it for automated decision-making.

Who we share it with

We only share your information where needed: with our email and website hosting provider, which stores and delivers the messages you send through the website; with our professional advisers such as our accountant; and where the law requires it. Our website shows a map provided by Google. When the map loads, Google may collect information about your visit under its own privacy policy.

Cookies and browser storage

We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. The website stores one small setting in your browser to remember when you last closed our job vacancies popup, so it does not keep reappearing. Staff who sign in to edit the website receive a secure login cookie. The embedded Google map may set its own cookies.

How long we keep it

• Enquiries that do not lead to work: up to 2 years.
• Customer records: for as long as needed for the work and any guarantee, and up to 6 years afterwards for tax and legal reasons.
• Job applications: up to 6 months after the role is filled, unless you agree to us keeping them longer for future roles.

Your rights

You have the right to ask for a copy of your information, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to ask for it to be transferred to you or someone else. To use any of these rights, email support@dskdesignandbuild.co.uk. We will reply within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or by calling 0303 123 1113.
